In a historic first, Scanwell Logistics, a global leader in freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Sri Lanka, bringing together over 100 senior leaders and delegates from more than 65 global stations. Held at the Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams, this landmark event underscored Scanwell’s strategic focus on emerging markets and global integration.
The multi-day summit, which took place from June 3–4, had two days of high-impact dialogue, collaboration, and celebration. The AGM was led by Group Chairman Mr. Adam Ho, Group CEO Mr. Adrian Hassan, and other key regional executives, including Mr. Andy Anderson, Managing Director, and Mr. Priyan Seilman, Executive Director of Scanwell Colombo.
“Bringing the AGM to Colombo marks more than a geographical shift; it symbolises our commitment to global integration and regional empowerment. Sri Lanka holds a strategic position along the Belt and Road Initiative, and Scanwell’s presence here reinforces our role in connecting emerging trade corridors through innovation and purpose,” said Mr. Adam Ho, Group Chairman. “The momentum we built in Colombo will carry forward as we drive the next phase of Scanwell’s growth.”
The 2025 AGM was a pivotal moment for Scanwell to articulate its strategic vision, celebrate milestones, and realign for future opportunities. Central themes included innovation, adaptability, and investment in high-growth regions.
“The 2025 AGM brought our global leadership together to sharpen our strategic focus and accelerate operational alignment,” stated Mr. Adrian Hassan, Group CEO. “As global trade continues to evolve, our commitment to agility, regional investment, and purposeful expansion will ensure we remain a step ahead.”
A spotlight was cast on Scanwell Colombo’s rapid emergence as a key operational hub, recognized for its bold innovation and strategic role in expanding Scanwell’s African footprint. The conference celebrated the successful establishment of Scanwell Logistics Kenya Pvt Ltd, with operational offices already live in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Building on this success, Scanwell Colombo announced new plans to extend its network into West and North Africa, with offices slated to open in Ghana and Egypt, respectively—demonstrating the group’s long-term commitment to high-potential trade corridors.
“Our expansion into Africa is not just about presence—it’s about positioning ourselves at the crossroads of future trade,” noted Mr. Andy Anderson, Managing Director. “Colombo’s AGM provided the ideal platform to align our teams, inspire forward-thinking, and reinforce our commitment to building logistics infrastructure where it matters most.”
Razmal Assen – Executive Director added “with operational offices now established in both Nairobi and Mombasa—we have recognized the strong potential of the East African market. Building on this momentum, we are actively planning to expand into Uganda and Tanzania in the middle east near future.”
For the local team in Sri Lanka, hosting the AGM was a powerful endorsement of their growing role within Scanwell’s global operations.
“It was an honour and a proud moment for Scanwell Colombo to host our global peers,” said Mr. Priyan Seilman, Executive Director. “The opportunity to showcase Sri Lankan hospitality and demonstrate our operational excellence was invaluable. Positioned along a key maritime route, Sri Lanka offers strategic access to Asia, the Middle East, and Africa—making it a vital link in our global network.”
The successful conclusion of the AGM in Colombo reaffirms Scanwell’s strategic ambitions—to lead in innovation, strengthen regional hubs, and drive long-term, sustainable growth across both established and emerging markets.
