Sampath Bank Sets API Banking in Motion with First Corporate Onboarding of CDB

Sampath Bank has onboarded Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB)as the first corporate client to integrate with its API Banking platform, enabling seamless and secure payments processing directly from CDB’s ERP system.

This innovative banking platform was initiated as part of the portfolio of products offered under ‘Transaction Banking’ at Sampath Bank becoming the first bank to do so in Sri Lanka. The introduction of this standardised API Banking platform is a milestone in the country’s financial services sector.

Mr. Sanjaya Gunawardane, Manging Director Designate, Sampath Bank, added, “We are pleased to support CDBthrough this integration. This partnership signals the evolving role of banks in shaping intelligent, connected ecosystems for businesses.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Mahesh Nanayakkara, Managing Director/CEO of CDB, said, “As a forward-thinking financial institution, we view technology as an enabler. Being the first to integrate with Sampath Bank’s API Banking platform allows us to further streamline our operations while setting the foundation for future-ready financial management.”
