People’s Leasing Celebrates World Children’s Day with ‘Samata Sarana’ community centre

People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), the nation’s leading non-bank financial institution, proudly commemorated World Children’s Day through a dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in partnership with the “Samata Sarana” Community Care in Mutwal, Colombo 15.

The event, held with the People’s Leasing & Finance PLC’s aim of uplifting the education system and empowering the local community, underscores PLC’s strong commitment to sustainable social development in Sri Lanka.

The ceremony took place at the “Samata Sarana” premises, located at No. 531, Aluthmawatha Road, Mutwal, Colombo 15. The PLC delegation was headed by Mr. Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, and included representatives from the People’s Leasing and “Samata Sarana” Community Care.

PLC provided a comprehensive donation of essential supplies to support the various groups served by “Samata Sarana”. These contributions included school bags for all children to enhance their learning experience, kitchen equipment to facilitate the preparation of daily breakfast and lunch for the children, along with clothing items. Furthermore, provided clutches, adult diapers, nutritional supplements, and vital medicines for the elders.

“Samata Sarana” Community Care, Established on October 1st, 1988, is a charitable organization dedicated to providing care and support to the vulnerable. It currently serves a wide cross-section of the community, including 35 pre-school children, 155 school children (Grades 1 to 5), and 75 elders.

Mr. Bandaranayake – Chief Executive Officer / General Manager noted, “As a responsible corporate entity, we believe that investing in the education and well-being of the younger generation and ensuring the dignity of our elders are fundamental to the nation’s progress. Our partnership with “Samata Sarana” reflects our deep-seated commitment to this mission.”
