People’s Bank has once again launched a series of educational seminars to enhance the knowledge and educational skills of children preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship examination in partnership with ‘Chooti Baba’ newspaper. The first seminar under this programme was conducted recently at De La Salle Collegein Mattakkuliya.

People’s Bank plans to carry out 80 seminars covering the entire country through this programme. The seminars use modern, scientific teaching methods to develop the educational skills of students so that they are able to face the examination with confidence. A key feature of these seminars is the guidance of parents to better prepare the students to face the exam. Teaching staff with several years of experience is supporting this effort. Last year, a total of 83 seminars were successfully conducted islandwide under this programme.

In parallel to this, the Sisu Udana Chooti Baba online scholarship seminars are carried out weekly. They are broadcasted live on the People’s Bank official YouTube channel and Facebook page as well as on the Imashi Education YouTube channel and Facebook page.

People’s Bank organizes these seminars for students preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship examination and also presents awards for those who successfully pass it with flying colours.

People’s Bank introduced the Sisu Udana account with the goal of building a brighter future for Sri Lanka’s school children by giving them a solid foundation in life. It was created for children of 6 to 18 years of age to inculcate the habit of saving from their early days. In addition to an attractive interest rate, Sisu Udana also provides numerous gifts and benefits to children based on the account balance.
