People’s Bank Sports Awards ceremony was recently held at Eagles’ Lake Side Banquet Hall, Aththidiya, to honour the outstanding achievements of the bank’s sports community. A total of 212 sports personalities were awarded colours for representing People’s Bank in Nationalized Services, Inter-Bank, and International Sports competitions from 2018 to the present.
In recognition of regional talent, 216 medals and trophies were presented to the winners of the 2019 and 2023 Inter-Regional Team Sports competitions and Indoor Games tournaments. The event also paid tribute to 20 retired sports personalities with special appreciation awards for their invaluable contributions.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka and was attended by distinguished guests, including members of the corporate and executive management, as well as athletes representing the bank. This event underscored People’s Bank’s dedication to fostering sportsmanship and celebrating excellence within its community.
