People’s Bank was recognized with two prestigious titles—Best Bank in the Public Banking Sector and Sustainable Bank of the Year in the Public Banking Sector—at the South Asian Business Excellence Awards 2025 (SAPS), held recently at Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams, Colombo. These accolades reaffirm the Bank’s continued leadership and commitment to responsible, progressive banking within Sri Lanka’s financial sector.

This historic summit was attended by leaders from various business sectors, professionals, corporate executives, academic figures, and representatives from the diplomatic corps across South Asia and beyond, making it a significant platform for celebrating excellence and regional advancement.

The Picture shows Former President Maithripala Sirisena presenting the award to People’s Bank Deputy General Manager – Acting Head of Finance, Nilmini Premalal, and her team.

Established in 1961, People’s Bank has grown into one of the country’s foremost financial institutions, today serving 15.2 million customers through a network of 747 branches and service centers supported by more than 8,000 employees, and managing assets exceeding Rs. 3.7 trillion.
