People’s Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with MasterCard to launch a suite of innovative, customer-focused digital payment solutions. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing transaction convenience, accelerating digital adoption, and delivering greater financial empowerment across diverse customer segments—including online enterprises, SMEs, and the youth account holders. The official agreement exchange ceremony took place recently at the People’s Bank Head Office in Colombo 02. These products will be launched soon to serve the potential customers and attract them to the digital economy
This partnership marks a pivotal milestone in People’s Bank’s ongoing digital transformation journey, further reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of secure and forward-thinking financial services in Sri Lanka.
Under this collaboration, People’s Bank will offer MasterCard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS), a globally acclaimed Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) platform to business customers. MPGS is engineered to meet the dynamic needs of the e-commerce sector, enabling merchants to process secure, seamless online payments efficiently. By integrating this robust system, People’s Bank aims to expand market access for businesses, boost online sales potential, and strengthen their digital footprint—locally and globally. In turn, consumers will benefit from a faster, safer, and user-friendly checkout experience, supporting the growth of Sri Lanka’s digital economy.

The ceremonial event witnessed the participation of senior leadership from both organizations.
