People’s Bank Conducts Seminars for Grade 5 Scholarship Students

People’s Bank’s Sisu Udana account and the Chooti Baba newspaper have jointly launched a series of seminars with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and educational skills of students appearing for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination later this year.

Under this program, seminars are currently being conducted across the entire island using modern scientific methods to develops students’ academic skills and creating an emotionally supportive environment for them to face the scholarship exam. It also specializes in providing guidance to parents on how to prepare their children for the examination. A team of knowledgeable teachers with several years of experience provides support for this program.

Sisu Udana Chooti Baba Online Scholarship Seminars are conducted weekly. They are broadcast via Zoom technology on the People’s Bank Sri Lanka and Imashi Education Facebook pages and YouTube channels.

People’s Bank has also made arrangements to award cash prizes of Rs. 100,000 each to the 10 students who score the highest marks in the island in this year’s Grade 5 scholarship examination.

Moreover, every child who exceeds the scholarship cut-off mark will be given special recognition in the form of a medal. Attractive prizes and medals will also be awarded to those who maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 5,000 in the Sisu Udana account before the release of the scholarship results and increase the balance in the account to Rs. 5,000 within three months of the release of the results. if they do not have an account, they can open a new Sisu Udana account during that period and increase the balance to Rs. 5,000.

People’s Bank introduced the Sisu Udana Account in 1996 with the aim of building a secure future for Sri Lankan students and empowering them. This has nurtured the habit of saving among schoolchildren between the ages of 5 and 18. In addition to the interest, students are entitled to various rewards and benefits depending on the amount deposited in this account. As a responsible financial institution, People’s Bank is also committed to building a stable future for them by providing various financial services all the way up to their higher education.

Today’s generation of children is the future lifeblood of the country. Having understood this fact, People’s Bank has organized this series of seminars for students sitting for the Grade 5 Scholarship and has awarded prizes to the students who have passed. People’s Bank invites parents, who always strive to give the best to their children, to deposit money into their child’s Sisu Udana account as they prepare for the Grade 5 Scholarship examination this year so that they have the best chance of having a future of prosperity.
