Cyclonic Storm Ditwah left a trail of destruction across several districts in Sri Lanka, severely damaging housing and displacing families. In response to the challenges, INSEE Lanka stepped forward with a donation of 20,000 INSEE Sanstha cement bags under the ‘ජාතිය ගොඩනගන ශක්තියේ සත්කාරය’ programme to aid in the rebuilding of homes for affected communities. The initiative demonstrates INSEE’s deep commitment to supporting Sri Lankans in times of crisis and contributing to long‑term resilience.

The symbolic handover of the donation took place at the Parliament of Sri Lanka, in the presence of Prof. Chandana Abeyratne, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and Dr. Susil Ranasinghe, Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply. Representing INSEE Lanka were Nandana Ekanayake, Chairman/CEO, and Chandana Nanayakkara, General Manager, Channel Development and External Affairs, highlighting the company’s leadership in community support and sustainable development.

The donated cement will be distributed through the District Secretaries (GAs) of Puttalam, Kurunegala, Kandy, Matale, and Badulla, guaranteeing assistance reaches communities most impacted by the storm. By enabling the reconstruction of homes, INSEE Lanka is helping restore dignity, safety, and stability to families who have endured immense hardship.

The initiative also reaffirms of INSEE Lanka’s role as a trusted partner in nation‑building. Through collaboration with government authorities and local communities, INSEE continues to stand with Sri Lanka, building hope for a stronger tomorrow.
