Aligned with INSEE’s Sustainability Ambition 2030 under the Community & Stakeholder Engagement pillar, INSEE Cement held a series of Community Medical Camps at the INSEE Ruhunu Cement Plant in Galle, the Puttalam Cement Plant (PCW), and the Aruwakkaru Quarry.

The initiative provided essential healthcare services to more than 1,190 residents from surrounding communities in Galle, Puttalam, and Eluwankulama, demonstrating INSEE’s long-standing commitment to community wellbeing.

For INSEE, the Annual Medical Camps is a reflection of the company’s philosophy of ‘Build for Life.’ Prioritizing health and wellbeing, INSEE strengthens bonds with the communities demonstrating sustainable business growth must go hand in hand with social responsibility.

INSEE Medical Camps also highlight INSEE’s role as a responsible corporate citizen, and the company’s dedication to building healthier, more resilient communities in Sri Lanka, especially in areas surrounding the company plants and quarry. Through access to quality healthcare, INSEE is helping improve lives, reduce health risks, and create a stronger foundation for community development.

The three medical camps provided a wide range of services, including OPD consultations, paediatrics, eye care, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgical care, cancer screening, dermatology, kidney disease management, and dental care. Veteran doctors, specialists in these areas provided volunteer service on INSEE’s mission. Offering these services directly to underserved communities, INSEE is helping to bridge critical gaps in access to healthcare, supporting families in rural areas to benefit from timely medical attention.

The program was carried out in collaboration with Asiri Hospital Galle and Digasiri Hospital Puttalam, with the dedicated support of INSEE employees and volunteers. Their combined efforts ensured the camps were well-organized and impactful, reaching those who often face barriers to consistent medical care.
