Expanding its long-standing commitment towards Sri Lanka’s education sector, the global cloud enterprise software company IFS recently entered a unique partnership with the University of Moratuwa to give students improved learning access to modern and world-class ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems.

The partnership also includes SEBSA, an IFS partner, who will provide students with its hosting and support capabilities while contributing to university lectures. The signing of the MoU took place on the 01st of March 2023, at IFS Sri Lanka’s office premises in Orion City. It featured the participation of Stephen Keys, Chief Talent & Sustainability Officer of IFS, and representatives from the University of Moratuwa, SEBSA and IFS.

Since its inception in Sri Lanka, IFS has focused on collaborating with the nation’s leading universities as a part of its ESG strategy. The three pillar strategy is aimed at business excellence, helping customers transform and making a broader impact across the industry and society.

By expanding its university collaborations to give back to the system, IFS pursues its goal of positively influencing the industry to drive change on a wider scale while having a broader impact across Sri Lanka’s ICT sector and local society. Reiterating its commitment to transforming the future ICT landscape of the nation, the leading software solutions provider extended its support to more than 30 university partnerships in Sri Lanka, amounting to more than 80 worldwide.

“We are delighted to partner with the University of Moratuwa in our quest to empower talented students with access to IFS software, enhancing their current curriculum with state-of-the-art technology,” said Stephen Keys, Chief Talent and Sustainability Officer at IFS. “As part of our ESG strategy, we remain committed to giving back to the Sri Lankan community, and this partnership helps us continue capacity building and development throughout different academic levels.”

As a leading global cloud enterprise software company, IFS acknowledges that boosting innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging countries, such as Sri Lanka, requires a strong collaboration between academia and the industry. The knowledge-based company also recognizes the importance of developing intellectual infrastructure and continues to extend its support to establish an intellectual, capable and skilled generation of Sri Lanka’s future workforce, ensuring the longevity of the ICT industry.
