Experience the Spirit of Avurudu: Join People’s Bank for Ganu Denu

Get ready to add an extra sparkle to your Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations this year! People’s Bank is back with an exciting gift offer for Ganu Denu festivities this Avurudu season. Mark your calendars for Monday, April 15th, 2024, and head over to any People’s Bank branch island-wide to join in the offer.

T.M.W. Chandrakumara, Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking at People’s Bank, shared his excitement about the upcoming event, saying, “At People’s Bank, we’ve always aimed to be more than just a bank. We’re deeply rooted in the communities we serve, understanding the aspirations and traditions of every customer. Back in 1973, we pioneered the tradition of conducting Avurudu Ganu Denu at the bank, and ever since, it’s been a highlight in our calendar. Our goal with this annual celebration is not just to spread joy but also to encourage saving habits while honoring our rich cultural heritage.”

The public is cordially invited to visit any People’s Bank branch from 8:30 am on April 15th to conduct Avurudu Ganu Denu with the bank. For deposits of Rs. 50,000 or more, a beautiful brass oil lamp will be gifted to as a souvenir. In addition, a delicious array of traditional Avurudu delights like Milk Rice and Kevum will be served to all participants.
