DFCC Bank has been honoured with three significant awards at the Global Banking and Finance Awards 2024, solidifying its position as a customer-focused and sustainable banking leader in Sri Lanka. The Bank received accolades for Banking Brand of the Year Sri Lanka 2024, Best Bank for Sustainable Development Sri Lanka 2024, and Fastest Growing Retail Bank Sri Lanka 2024. These independent awards, presented by the UK-based Global Banking and Finance Review, highlight DFCC Bank’s consistent dedication to innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric growth.

Commenting on this recognition, Thimal Perera, Chief Executive Officer of DFCC Bank, said, “Our achievements at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2024 reflect the unwavering dedication of our team and our mission to drive sustainable and customer-focused banking. We take pride in these accomplishments as they underscore our efforts to innovate while creating meaningful value for our stakeholders.” These accolades highlight DFCC Bank’s commitment to enhancing customer experience through sustainable practices and cutting-edge solutions. It remains steadfast in its mission to exceed stakeholder expectations while driving progress and growth in the financial sector.

The Best Bank for Sustainable Development award highlights DFCC Bank’s pioneering sustainability initiatives. As the first Sri Lankan bank to adopt a formal sustainability strategy, DFCC has integrated environmental and social priorities into its core operations. The Bank remains the only private-sector entity in Sri Lanka accredited by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), facilitating funding for renewable energy and climate projects, including Sri Lanka’s first private-sector mini-hydro, wind, and solar initiatives.

Recognition as the Fastest-Growing Retail Bank reflects DFCC’s customer-first ethos. Innovative offerings such as the DFCC Virtual Wallet, DFCC iConnect, and a seamless eKYC-enabled digital onboarding system have simplified banking for individuals and businesses. These solutions have driven significant growth in DFCC’s customer base, branch network, and ATM coverage, ensuring broader access to financial services nationwide.

Winning the Banking Brand of the Year award underscores DFCC’s enduring reputation for reliability and innovation. Since its founding in 1955, the Bank has evolved from a development finance institution to a full-service commercial bank, empowering individuals and businesses with tailored financial solutions.

DFCC Bank remains committed to delivering inclusive, technology-driven banking experiences while prioritizing sustainability and national economic progress.
