ComBank’s ‘Pita Rata Wasi’ remittance promo back with Rs. 6 million in cash prizes

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC will make the Sinhala and Tamil New Year more rewarding for remittance recipients and reaffirm is commitment to always thinking about its customers and delivering the very best, with the return of the Bank’s popular ‘Pita Rata Wasi’ seasonal promotion, which offers a total of Rs. 6 million in cash rewards during the 2026 Avurudu period.

Now in its third year, the promotion is centred on remittances received through the Bank’s RemitPlus platform and features a Rs. 1 million grand prize, in addition to 100 cash rewards of Rs. 50,000 each. The promotion will run up to 15th April 2026.

Under this year’s ‘Pita Rata Wasi’ campaign, 100 customers who receive money through ComBank RemitPlus during the promotion period will be selected via weekly draws to receive Rs. 50,000 each. At the conclusion of the promotion, one grand prize winner will be selected from among all customers who received eligible remittances during the period, to receive Rs. 1 million.

Only remittances credited directly to Commercial Bank accounts via RemitPlus will qualify for the draws. The Bank said the names of winners will be published on its own social media channels from the beginning of March onwards.

ComBank RemitPlus is a sophisticated, low-cost, real-time online money transfer facility that enables Sri Lankan expatriates to send money instantly from many countries around the world. Available through a network of agents and business partners in more than 130 countries, RemitPlus ensures that funds are credited instantly to recipients’ Commercial Bank accounts, at any time of the day, on any day of the year.

Timed to coincide with the Avurudu season, the 2026 ‘Pita Rata Wasi’ promotion once again underscores Commercial Bank’s commitment to adding tangible value to remittance recipients, while celebrating one of Sri Lanka’s most cherished festive periods.
