Invites owners of credit as well as debit cards to celebrate more, but spend less

Demonstrating its commitment to giving customers the very best offers throughout the year, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon is kicking off the festive season with its biggest card promotion of the year, offering discounts of up to 70% for credit and debit card holders at over 642 merchant partners operating thousands of outlets island-wide.

Covering the widest range of categories ever offered under a single promotion, and running from 15th November to 31st December 2025, Commercial Bank’s seasonal campaign features exclusive savings on clothing, fashion and accessories, shoes and leatherwear, jewellery, lifestyle products, salons and cosmetics, watches and accessories, online vendors, supermarkets, healthcare, dining, automobiles, hotels, bookshops and travel. Cardholders will also benefit from Easy Payment Plans of up to 60 months on white goods purchases. In addition to these, customers can also use the Bank’s call & convert facility to convert their payments into installment plans from selected merchants, while premium cardholders will receive special offers exclusively curated for them.

Speaking about the campaign, Mr Sivasubramaniam Ganeshan, Deputy General Manager – Personal Banking at Commercial Bank said: “The December promotion is a major highlight of our annual card calendar. We have worked with a record number of merchant partners to give our customers the most rewarding shopping experience possible this festive season. They can enjoy meaningful savings and convenience while celebrating the season.”

This year’s campaign represents the highest number of seasonal offers available for any bank’s cardholders, reaffirming Commercial Bank’s commitment to delivering superior value and unmatched convenience to its customers, Mr Ganeshan said. The initiative not only rewards existing customers but also encourages new card sign-ups and strengthens the Bank’s position as the preferred choice for cardholders nationwide.

Commercial Bank cards are among the fastest growing in Sri Lanka and lead the market in point-of-sale usage across both credit and debit categories. The Bank offers a wide range of Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay and LankaPay JCB credit cards across all tiers, including premium cards such as Visa Signature, World Mastercard, Visa Infinite, UnionPay Asia Prestige Platinum and Diamond cards. All cards are enabled with ‘Tap ’n Go’ NFC technology and supported by one of the largest POS networks in the country.

In addition to major festive campaigns such as this, ComBank cardholders enjoy year-round offers across diverse sectors, making every purchase more rewarding.

The first Sri Lankan bank with a market capitalisation exceeding US$ 1 billion, Commercial Bank was also the first bank in the country to be listed among the Top 1000 Banks of the World, and has the highest capital base among all Sri Lankan banks. The Bank is the largest private sector lender in Sri Lanka and the largest lender to the country’s SME sector. Commercial Bank is also a leader in digital innovation and is Sri Lanka’s first 100% carbon-neutral bank.

Commercial Bank operates a network of strategically located branches and automated machines island-wide, and has the widest international footprint among Sri Lankan banks, with 20 branches in Bangladesh, a fully-fledged Tier I Bank with a majority stake in the Maldives, a microfinance company in Myanmar, and a representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The Bank’s fully owned subsidiaries, CBC Finance Ltd. and Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Limited, also deliver a range of financial services via their own branch networks.
