The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has launched its much-anticipated seasonal promotion for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, offering credit and debit cardholders discounts of up to 70% across an extensive network of merchant outlets island-wide in the run-up to the Avurudu celebrations.

Running up to 30th April 2026, the annual promotion, one of the biggest highlights of the Bank’s cards calendar, brings together more than 579 merchant partners representing over 4,000 retail outlets, providing Commercial Bank cardholders with a wide array of savings across multiple lifestyle categories during the festive season. As one of the Bank’s most significant and welcomed annual campaigns, this promotion embodies Commercial Bank’s commitment to spreading the spirit of Avurudu by bringing families and communities closer together, enabling customers to celebrate the season with greater joy, ease and generosity, while sharing in the happiness of meaningful savings across all aspects of their festive preparations.

The promotion spans a broad spectrum of retail sectors associated with Avurudu shopping and celebrations. These include 221 partners in clothing, fashion and accessories, 20 partners offering shoes and leatherwear, 17 jewellery retailers, 69 lifestyle merchants, 11 salon, spa and cosmetics providers, five watch and accessory retailers, and 80 online shopping partners. Cardholders will also enjoy seasonal savings at four supermarket chains, 17 healthcare partners, 38 dining establishments, six automobile-related merchants, 90 hotel partners and a bookshop participating in the promotion.

Under the promotion, each participating merchant partner will offer exclusive discounts to Commercial Bank credit and debit cardholders on specific days during the six-week campaign period. The offers will be available both in-store and online, enabling customers to take advantage of festive deals whether shopping in person or through digital platforms.

Mr Seevali Wickramasinghe, Chief Manager – Card Centre at Commercial Bank said the Avurudu promotion remains the Bank’s biggest seasonal campaign, designed to bring meaningful savings and convenience to customers during one of the most important festive periods in Sri Lanka.

He noted that this year’s campaign features the largest collection of seasonal offers for Commercial Bank credit and debit cardholders, reflecting the Bank’s continued efforts to expand the range of merchant partnerships and deliver greater value to customers.

With discounts available across categories such as clothing, footwear, jewellery, supermarkets, salons and spas, dining, travel and more, the promotion enables cardholders to enjoy the widest range of festive shopping benefits while preparing for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Commercial Bank credit and debit cards support a wide range of year-round promotions across Sri Lanka, providing cardholders with regular opportunities to enjoy exclusive savings and privileges across retail, dining, lifestyle and travel sectors. The Bank continues to strengthen its merchant partnerships and expand the scope of its promotional programmes, ensuring that customers receive tangible value and rewarding experiences throughout the year.
