Sri Lanka’s drag racing calendar accelerates once again on 28th March 2026 from 3 pm onwards at the Katukurunda Racing Track with the 2025/26 Drag Racing Championship titled “Würth Drag Wars”. The Colombo Racing Club organizes the event as Sri Lanka’s first-ever night-time drag racing extravaganza. The Title Sponsor for the Drag Racing Championship – 2025/2026 season will be Würth Lanka, the official partner supporting the growth and professional development of motor sports in Sri Lanka. With over 25 years of history in Sri Lanka, Würth – the iconic brand in the vehicle aftermarket space – has been at the forefront of motor sports, sponsoring some of the most iconic races and up-and-coming racing stars.

The event sets the stage for another high-impact motorsport event in Sri Lanka’s motor racing calendar and marks the next chapter in a championship series focused on raising the standard of competitive drag racing nationwide. The event will feature competitive racing action supported by a range of attractions, including food stalls, entertainment, and curated activities, creating a well-rounded and thrilling experience under lights for participants, partners, and spectators alike.

The Colombo Racing Club was established to revitalize and professionally advance drag racing in Sri Lanka. Since its formation, the club has successfully organized three events, each demonstrating measurable improvements in planning, safety standards, participation, and overall execution. The long-term vision of the Colombo Racing Club is to continuously enhance the quality of each event and progressively elevate Sri Lankan drag racing to meet international standards. The Club has been organising drag races since 2024.
