Superstar Vijay, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu last May, has reportedly dismissed nearly 50 government officials and powerful leaders of his party accused of corruption over the past two months.

Anti-corruption was Vijay’s main slogan during the Tamil Nadu state elections.

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption is the main institution responsible for investigating individuals accused of corruption in the state.

Based on investigations conducted by the relevant institution, Chief Minister Vijay has dismissed 34 government officials so far.

Among those dismissed are officials from various government departments, including revenue department officials and police officers, who were accused of corruption.

In addition, Vijay has so far dismissed 15 prominent figures in his party who have been accused of corruption. The majority of them are accused of accepting bribes.
