The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today issued a reminder to the Government Analyst, requesting steps be taken to submit the reports regarding the unknown drugs found at the scene of the death of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kapila Chandrasena. Sri Lanka Latest News

The investigation into the incident was taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena today.

During the proceedings, officers of the Colombo Crimes Division informed the court that samples of several unidentified drugs found at the scene of the deceased had been referred to the Government Analyst. However, the relevant analyst reports had not yet been received.

The police further informed the court that the post-mortem examination report of the deceased had also not been received so far.

After considering the facts presented before the court, Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered that a reminder be sent to the Government Analyst’s Department, requesting the submission of the reports related to the relevant drugs.

The Magistrate also ordered that a reminder letter be issued to the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer’s Office, requesting the submission of the post-mortem report.

The case was thereafter ordered to be called again on July 22 to inquire into the progress of the proceedings.
