Former Minister Jagath Pushpakumara Arrested by Bribery Commission, Produced Before Court

Former Minister Jagath Pushpakumara was arrested today (08) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The arrest was made in connection with an investigation being conducted by the Bribery Commission.

According to reports, the former minister was taken into custody this morning after arriving at the Bribery Commission to provide a statement.

Jagath Pushpakumara has previously served as the Minister of State for Foreign Employment Promotion, Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries, and Minister of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development.

Following his arrest, the former minister was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
