The Colombo High Court has ordered the postponement of the announcement of the verdict in four cases filed by the Bribery Commission against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who has been accused of corruption, until June 09. Sri Lanka Latest News

The matter was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihail today (26).

The verdicts in the four cases filed by the Bribery Commission against Sarana Gunawardena were originally scheduled to be delivered today.

However, when the cases were called, the judge informed the court that the verdicts had not yet been prepared.

Accordingly, the court ordered that the verdicts be delivered on June 09.

The Bribery Commission has filed these cases against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, alleging that he caused losses to the government by obtaining vehicles on a rental basis for the institution while serving as the Chairman of the National Lottery Board in 2006.
