The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to increase the Overnight Policy Rate by 100 basis points to 8.75%. Sri Lanka Latest News
The decision was taken during the Monetary Policy Board meeting held yesterday (25).
The Central Bank stated that the Monetary Policy Board arrived at this decision after carefully assessing prevailing domestic and global economic conditions, as well as possible future developments.
Earlier, in March this year, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka had decided to maintain the Overnight Policy Rate at 7.75%.
