At a media briefing held at the Department of Government Information on the 2nd, Nalinda Jayatissa and the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, D. J. Rajakaruna, informed the public that fuel prices would not be increased during the month.
However, eight days after that announcement, the government last night took steps to increase the prices of all types of fuel.
