The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) is pleased to announce a specialized, interactive and highly practical one-day training workshop titled “Essential Financial Skills”, scheduled for Thursday, 19 February 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium, Colombo 10.
This exclusive workshop is designed to strengthen financial literacy and financial decision-making capabilities among entrepreneurs and business professionals with a strong focus on real-world application. Participants will gain practical insights into why understanding finance is critical for financial inclusion, business sustainability and growth.
The program will cover key areas including financial literacy and its significance in business, budgeting and forecasting for business success, banking basics for enterprises and working capital management. In addition, participants will learn about the effective use of cash flow forecasting for prudent borrowing supported by hands-on practical case studies.
The workshop is targeted at micro, small and medium-scale business owners, start-upsand non-financial professionals seeking to gain/enhance their financial skills for better business performance.
Key program coverage includes Financial Literacy, Managing Business Finances, and achieving Business Stability through Financial Inclusion.
The session will be conducted by Mr. Sarath Dias-Bandaranayake, a highly experienced Trainer/Coach of SME entrepreneurs, Banking and Finance professionals, Certified Trainers, Certified Life and Business Coaches and Certified Master Management Consultants (GAFM, USA). He is also a seasoned Management & HR Consultant and Life and Business Coach. Mr. Dias-Bandaranayake is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers, Fellow of the Sri Lanka Institute of Training Development, Founder Fellow of the Institute Chartered Professional Managers, an Associate Member of the Association of Human Resource Professionals and a Member of the Colombo Chapter of the International Coaching Federation.
