The Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India has announced a fully funded scholarship programme for Sri Lankan nationals to study Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi), Agra, for the academic year 2026–2027.
Under the scheme, selected candidates will receive return airfare, a monthly stipend, hostel accommodation, and an annual book grant.
Applicants must be between 19 and 45 years of age as of 1 April 2026 and should have prior knowledge of Hindi at the beginner or intermediate level.
Eligible Sri Lankan students are required to attend an interview with duly completed application forms at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (Indian Cultural Centre), No. 16/2, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07, on 9 March 2026, between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.
