The hunger strike launched by the School Development Officers’ Association in front of the Presidential Secretariat, demanding the permanent appointment of teachers, entered its fourth day today (29).
Several parties visited the protest site yesterday to inquire into the well-being of the officers participating in the fast.
Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, Chairman of the Medical and Civil Rights Doctors’ Trade Union Alliance, also visited the location and conducted medical examinations on several participants.
Saline was administered to a number of officers who were found to be suffering from dehydration.
