The Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) is accelerating Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem by giving 25 high-potential local startups unprecedented global exposure through a fully funded, six-week international residential entrepreneurship programme at IIT Madras Pravartak, India. Speaking on the programme, Shehani Seneviratne, Chairperson of SLASSCOM, said:“This collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak marks a transformative step in our mission to build globally competitive entrepreneurs. By providing startups direct access to one of the world’s leading innovation ecosystems, we empower them with the skills, confidence, and networks to scale internationally.”

Haridhu Abeygoonaratne, Vice Chair for SLASSCOM, added:“This initiative reflects SLASSCOM’s long-term vision of strengthening Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem through global collaboration. By investing in entrepreneurial capability and international exposure, we are laying the foundation for sustainable innovation, export-led growth, and national competitiveness.”

Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, H.E. Santosh Jha, highlighting the broader impact, stated:“India and Sri Lanka share a strong economic partnership that is advancing rapidly, especially in technology, education, and entrepreneurship. Following the State Visit of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, 700 training slots have been created to build capacity for Sri Lankans across sectors. This programme reflects our shared vision to nurture innovation-driven growth and strengthen people-to-people collaboration between our countries.”
