Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (26th), according to Sri Lanka Latest News.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Bribery, Corruption, and Wasteful Organization has lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption regarding the purchase of a house near Musius College in Colombo. The property, registered in the name of Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was acquired through a deed dated 5th April 2013.
The organization has requested a formal investigation into the matter, citing concerns that the transaction may have involved corrupt practices.
It is reported that Shiranthi Rajapaksa has been summoned to appear before the Police Financial Crimes Division tomorrow (27th) for questioning in connection with the case.
