Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero, currently under remand, has been admitted to the hospital, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
Prison Media Spokesperson A. C. Gajanayake stated that Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero was admitted to the Trincomalee District General Hospital for a medical examination.
Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero, along with four other monks and six additional suspects, was remanded until the 28th in connection with the controversial incident that recently occurred at the Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya in Trincomalee.
According to the prison media spokesperson, Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero was admitted to the hospital for a blood test due to an illness he developed.
