Foreign media report that Venezuelan parliamentarian Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guevara, the son of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who was arrested in the United States, made a special statement to the Venezuelan Parliament yesterday.
Addressing Parliament for the first time since the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro, he stated that the illegal operation carried out by the United States sets a dangerous precedent for the international community.
He emphasized that no country can consider the kidnapping of a head of state as a normal event, warning that the fate Venezuela faces today could befall another nation tomorrow.
Maduro’s son also called on the United States to immediately release his parents and stated that he strongly condemns the inclusion of his name in the indictment filed before the court.
It was further reported that he concluded his speech by sending a message to his father, stating that they would continue to fulfill their duty until his return.
