Former United National Party (UNP) Member of Parliament, Mr. Naveen Dissanayake, has been officially appointed as the Vice President of the party for the year 2026. This appointment has been made in accordance with Article 8.1.1(c) of the UNP constitution.
The party has confirmed that the UNP Working Committee recommended Mr. Dissanayake’s nomination as Vice President, effective from January 3, 2026.
In addition, Mr. Dissanayake will also serve as a member of the UNP Working Committee, in line with Article 7.1(a) of the party constitution.
