The Meteorological Department has warned the public to remain vigilant as heavy rainfall is expected in the Eastern, Uva, and Central Provinces, as well as in the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts, over the next 36 hours.
According to the Department, the prevailing rainy conditions are also likely to intensify in the Northern and Northwestern Provinces and in the Anuradhapura district.
The Department further stated that showers will occur on the eastern slopes of the Central Highlands, in the Trincomalee and Monaragala districts, across the Western Province, and in the Matara and Galle districts.
