Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met with the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mathew Duckworth, at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Colombo today, with the aim of discussing relief measures for those affected by Cyclone Ditva. Sri Lanka Latest News
During the meeting, the two parties exchanged several views regarding the current situation in Sri Lanka. Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa highlighted that the cyclone had caused severe destruction, leading to the collapse of businesses, loss of livelihoods, and damage to vital infrastructure. He respectfully requested the Australian High Commissioner’s support in restoring the affected infrastructure and rebuilding the lives of the impacted communities.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also extended his gratitude to the Government and people of Australia, on behalf of all Sri Lankans, for the assistance and relief services already provided by the Republic of Australia.
