Sri Lanka received fresh humanitarian and technical support from India today as another Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft touched down carrying vital Bailey Bridge components to restore connectivity in disaster-hit areas.
The shipment includes modular bridge parts designed for rapid assembly, enabling authorities to quickly reconnect key roads and restore access to isolated communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Alongside the equipment, a 25-member specialist team—including engineers skilled in bridge construction and medical personnel assigned to support the field hospital—also arrived. Their deployment underscores India’s continued and committed assistance to Sri Lanka during this challenging period.
This latest arrival further strengthens the ongoing Operation Sagar Bandhu relief mission, reflecting New Delhi’s readiness to support its neighbour with both manpower and critical infrastructure solutions.
