The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has announced that it will give a 48-hour deadline for the responsible authorities to present solutions to the issues faced by doctors and the country’s health system.
In a statement issued by GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, the association noted that if solutions are not provided within the next 48 hours, the GMOA’s Central Committee meeting scheduled for the 26th will decide on taking trade union action.
The statement further emphasized that the association expects the President, the Minister of Health, and all other responsible officials to intervene immediately and announce a series of solutions—with a clear timeframe—to address the prevailing problems affecting doctors and the health sector.
