Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated in Parliament today that he has no personal issues with Minister Aruna Jayasekara, who currently serves as the Acting Minister of Defense. He emphasized that following the no-confidence motion brought against the minister, the Secretariat reports and the Attorney General’s report—containing the facts and figures on which the motion was rejected—must be presented to Parliament. Premadasa further highlighted that although victims of the Easter Sunday attacks repeatedly demanded a fair investigation, justice has not been delivered. He pointed out that the father of a family affected by the tragedy participated in the ongoing discussions in Geneva via Zoom technology and declared that the investigations conducted in Sri Lanka had failed to deliver justice. The victim’s testimony underscored that such shortcomings are unacceptable for the country and that true justice must be ensured for those affected, Premadasa added.
