Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya Calls for Public Servants’ Commitment to Drive National Transformation

In the future, we will have to work even on holidays. We will not be able to leave at 4:30 in the evening, but instead must dedicate ourselves to the country. Without such commitment, we will not be able to drive national transformation,” said Prime Minister and Minister of Education Harini Amarasuriya.

She emphasized that a country cannot progress without a strong and effective education service. Along with this, the dedication of public servants is essential. Merely changing a government, she noted, is not enough to bring about complete improvement.

“To develop a country, transformational change must be the focus. For that, the contribution of public servants is crucial. We will have to work even on holidays, and we cannot simply wait to leave our duties at 4:30 in the evening,” the Prime Minister reiterated.

Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya made these remarks while attending the ceremony to distribute appointment letters to officers recruited on a limited basis for the Academic Administrative Service.
