Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who appeared before the Bribery Commission this morning (03) to provide a statement, was returned to prison after approximately five hours.
Senaratne, against whom a warrant had been issued, was arrested and remanded following his court appearance on August 29.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama had directed prison officials to produce him before the Bribery Commission at 9 a.m. today (03) to record his statement.
Accordingly, after completing the statement, the former minister was escorted back to prison a short while ago.
