Former State Minister and Parliamentarian Sujeewa Senasinghe, who appeared before court today in connection with the alleged illegal assembly of a luxury vehicle valued at approximately ten million rupees, has been granted bail.
The order was issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
Previously, Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura had directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to produce Senasinghe in court today, along with relevant medical documentation confirming that he had travelled overseas for medical treatment.
According to our correspondent, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, along with a group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarians — including Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Kabir Hashim, Mano Ganeshan, and Mujibur Rahuman — were present in court during today’s proceedings.
