The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake, emphasized that even in the absence of personal benefit, any act causing financial loss to the government constitutes a corrupt practice.
Speaking at a seminar in Colombo, he underscored the importance of establishing a public service that operates independently and does not blindly follow political directives.
Judge Dissanayake made these remarks while attending the second Annual General Meeting of the Association of Semi-Government Executive Officers, held this afternoon at the Colombo Foundation Institute, where he served as the chief guest.
