Amid ongoing discussions regarding revised electricity tariffs, Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya, Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), has submitted his resignation to the Minister of Energy.
According to the Sunday Times, Dr. Siyambalapitiya’s decision was prompted by undue interference from the political establishment and the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) concerning the implementation of cost-reflective tariffs.
