Senior journalist Premalal Wijeratne, who dedicated over five decades to the field of journalism, has passed away at the age of 75.
Wijeratne began his illustrious media career with the Dawasa newspaper and went on to contribute significantly to several leading publications, including Sunday Peramuna, Mawbima, and Janayugaya. Throughout his career, he reported extensively on police affairs, health, and politics.
At the time of his passing, he was serving as the Deputy Editor of the Mawrata newspaper. He also had a stint at Sirasa TV, further broadening his experience in the media landscape.
