Several significant revelations emerged during the COPE (Committee on Public Enterprises) proceedings regarding the importation of substandard medicines under the purview of Keheliya.
Officials disclosed that Attorney-at-Law Manoj Gamage, who served as the media spokesperson for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was also a member of the board of directors at the time. It was further revealed that despite Gamage informing then-President Ranil Wickremesinghe that the importation of substandard medicines was not permissible, no action was taken on the matter.
