Deputy Minister of Defense, Aruna Jayasekara, has assured that the recent shooting incidents reported across the island do not pose a threat to national security.
Speaking at an event held today (25), the Minister addressed concerns raised by journalists regarding the surge in shootings.
“We have ensured the safety of the public and have implemented a special program to address this issue. Public security across Sri Lanka remains intact. While there are ongoing clashes between underworld gangs, they do not have a significant impact on national security. The Ministry of Public Security is actively working on this matter,” he stated.
