The wife of National People’s Power (NPP) MP Susantha Dodawatte has lodged a complaint at police headquarters, stating that her jeep has not yet been returned. She was accompanied by her lawyer during the complaint.
The lawyer further revealed that the MP’s wife, who is also her employer, has already initiated divorce proceedings against MP Dodawatte and that another MP has now been included in the case.
Meanwhile, MP Susantha Dodawatte is reportedly preparing to travel abroad using a diplomatic passport. Before departing, his wife has emphasized the urgent need to recover the vehicle.
The lawyer also noted that a prior complaint was lodged at the Piliyandala Police, but as no investigation had been conducted, they were compelled to escalate the matter to police headquarters.
Speaking to the media yesterday (21) at police headquarters, Lawyer Dakshika Dissanayake stated that the Prado jeep, owned by her employer, MP Susantha Dodawatte, was being used without permission and under force.
“We have information that the vehicle has been handed over to a third party. Despite filing a second complaint at the Piliyandala Police, the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) has failed to take any action. That is why we have now approached police headquarters to seek justice,” she said.
Dissanayake further asserted that their intent was not to discredit the government but to ensure justice is served. “This government came into power promising a just society,” she remarked.
