Two Retired Soldiers Arrested Over Journalist Keith Noyahr’s 2008 Abduction and Assault

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction and severe assault of journalist Keith Noyahr, police reported.

The arrests were made yesterday (01) by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The suspects, both retired soldiers formerly attached to the Army Intelligence Unit, are aged 42 and 46 and are residents of Nawagaththegama and Ulukkulam.

Keith Noyahr, who was serving as a newspaper editor, was abducted and brutally assaulted in May 2008. A group of suspects, including military personnel, had previously been arrested in relation to the case.

The CID has launched further investigations into the incident.
