President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has submitted the names of three senior High Court judges, recommended by Chief Justice Murdhu Fernando, to the Constitutional Council for appointment to the Court of Appeal.
Notably, the nominees proposed by Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe have not been included in the list.
The judges nominated for the vacancies are Kandy High Court Judge Sumudu Premachandra, Commercial High Court (Colombo) Judge K. Priyantha Fernando, and Trincomalee High Court Judge A. Premashankar.
The Constitutional Council is scheduled to convene on Wednesday to deliberate on the nominations.
