A high-level discussion on the current security situation in the country took place today (27) at the Presidential Secretariat between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and senior officials of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The discussion focused on future security measures, with extensive deliberations on strengthening the Sri Lanka Air Force and enhancing its role in supporting the operations of the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Navy.
Key attention was also given to the budgetary allocations for the Air Force in this year’s budget, along with its current operational and logistical requirements.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuiyakontha, Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, and a group of senior Air Force officers.
