A shooting incident took place inside the Aluthkade court complex moments ago, resulting in the death of a well-known underworld figure.
According to police reports, Ganemulla Sanjeewa, an organized crime gang leader, was fatally shot within the court premises. Sanjeewa had been transported from Boossa Prison to the Aluthkade court this morning (19) for a scheduled court hearing.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the attack was carried out by an individual disguised as a lawyer. Authorities are currently conducting further inquiries into the incident.
