Stakeholder Consultation Extended for Amendments to the Electricity Act No. 36 of 2024

The Power Sector Reforms Secretariat has extended the deadline for written consultations on the proposed Electricity Act No. 36 amendments of 2024. Stakeholders now have until 14th February 2025 to submit their feedback.

The announcement was made by Pubudu Niroshan Hedigallage, Director General of the Power Sector Reforms Secretariat, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder input in shaping the amendments. Interested parties can review the proposed changes on the Ministry of Energy’s website at http://powermin.gov.lk/.

Written submissions can be delivered in person to the Ministry of Energy at 1st Floor, 437 Galle Road, Colombo 00300, or emailed to [email protected].

Stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of this extended period to contribute their perspectives on the proposed reforms, ensuring a more inclusive and effective legislative process for the power sector.
